The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education voted Oct. 8 to approve an administrator retirement contract for Daniel Whisler. The motion, made by Board member Kimberly Bianchini and seconded by Board member Rebecca Pfisterer, carried on a 6–1 vote: Rognstad, Freedlund, Bianchini, Camardo, Pfisterer and President William Grimpe voted yes; Secretary Donna M. Johnson voted no.
Johnson recorded that she "was not in agreement with the terms of the contract," and Board member Robert Rognstad urged the district to examine healthcare coverage for future administrative contracts. The contract as recorded was described in the meeting materials as extending "through 26/2027." The board did not elaborate on specific contract provisions during the public portion of the meeting.
Votes at a glance from the Oct. 8 meeting also show the consent agenda and the adjournment motion passed; both were approved by the full board. The board listed no further action on the Whisler contract at the meeting and indicated that follow-up on benefits policy would be considered administratively.
