Manager: town pursuing water upgrades and hiring public works staff
Summary
The municipal manager reported a planned meeting with state environmental officials and consultants to advance water system upgrades and said a public-works crew job offer is outstanding; town hall summer hours and audit timing were also noted.
The municipal manager told the Select Board that staff will travel to Montpelier to meet with ANR and consultants to push forward water system upgrades and to identify what the state requires for the permanent process.
"Myself, Stephanie, and Abby are heading up to Montpelier on Monday afternoon, to meet with ANR and our consultants to push forward the water system upgrades," the manager said. The manager also reported a job offer to a public-works crew member and said the town is optimistic that the hire will restore full staffing in time for summer workloads.
The manager noted town hall summer hours (most offices closing at noon on Fridays) and said the FY25 audit is complete pending delivery of the final copy. He said the packet will include financials each month and that the board has started additional internal checks, including having the chair review journal entries.
