Neighbors raised multiple concerns during the public comment period. Edward Raynor of 3290 Fairway 6 said "the sign has been installed without a permit." Mr. Raynor also told the Board he observed a floodlight and that the sign uses three fonts; he noted the Town code limits fonts to two. Jason Calder said his vendor installed the sign without his permission "on accident," and the Code Enforcement Officer said he believed the sign has been changed but did not confirm illumination. The Town Attorney advised that whether the Board can grant a waiver for font or other code issues "will require more research" and that the attorney had not yet made a formal interpretation.
Chairperson Landry asked the applicant not to illuminate the sign and requested the applicant return next month so the Board and staff can research the code questions and consider any necessary waivers. Neighbors also said the new sign differs in shape and style from the prior arch design; one neighbor said a clerical error appeared in the legal notice for the application. The Board adjourned public comment on the item; no formal approval or enforcement action was taken at the meeting.
