The Wareham School Committee approved several calendar revisions proposed by Superintendent Amy.
Amy asked the committee to begin the Sept. 17 meeting at 5:30 p.m. to provide a one-hour orientation session led by Sean Castello of the Massachusetts Association for School Committees, followed by the regular agenda at 6:30. “Sean Castello will come from the Massachusetts Association for School Committees, and do, sort of an opening session… since I'm a new superintendent, and to me, you're a new school committee,” she said.
She also requested moving the daytime budget workshop listed for 11/10/2026 to Thursday, Nov. 12 (committee members agreed) because the superintendent has an induction commitment on Nov. 10. Staff clarified that August 20 remains a 6:30 workshop meeting, the Sept. 17 session will start at 5:30, the workshop location will remain Room 520 at 48 Marion Road until the new space at 54 Marion Road is available, and the current emergency meeting (Aug. 4) will be added to the official meeting list.
A motion to approve the revised meeting dates was made, seconded and passed by roll call (Roger: yes; Joyce: yes; Kevin: yes; Chair: yes). Staff will circulate an updated, precise meeting calendar.
