Walworth board approves volunteer waivers for headstone cleaning and restoration

The Town Board adopted Resolution 150-26 and Resolution 151-26 on July 16, approving Volunteer Waiver, Release of Liability, and Indemnification Agreements for headstone cleaning and for headstone repair and restoration in town-owned cemeteries. The measures require volunteers to sign the waivers and follow approved cleaning and repair techniques before beginning work.
Town Clerk Nadine Seppeler told the board that Sentry Mapping has completed field work on all six town-owned cemeteries and that volunteers should avoid disturbing survey flags. She also described a proposed volunteer effort: "Wade’s work will focus on cleaning, repairing, and resetting broken, wobbly, or fallen headstones," and the Cemetery Committee recommended moving forward. The board approved the waivers unanimously, enabling Millennial Stone Cleaner volunteers to begin work after executing the required documents.
