County staff reviewed the federal grant packet required for a community wildfire protection plan update and asked the commission to authorize signing the USDA grant documents. Staff said the forms include standard SF‑424 financial and budget forms, and that they had reviewed the submission with the U.S. Forest Service program manager. The project will support updating the county wildfire protection plan and related contract documents.
"That just kinda shows that the $250,000 grant, I sign off on those because you guys give me the permissions each January," a staff member said while outlining the paperwork process. Commissioners voted to sign the grant documentation and authorized staff to proceed with the grant contract process.
