Planning board asks commission to order status report on 2016 growth-policy implementation

The Park County Planning Board voted to recommend that the County Commission direct planning staff to provide a status report on every item in the 2016 Growth Policy implementation table that is marked as within the Planning & Development Board’s jurisdiction. A board member moved the recommendation and, after an amendment replacing "quick review" with "status report," the board approved the motion by voice vote.

"So move to recommend to commission that planning staff do a status report of everything in implementation table that is marked as being within the planning board jurisdiction," a board member read during the meeting. The board then voted in favor of the amended motion; the transcript records the voice vote of "aye" and the chair's announcement that the "motion passes," but the record does not include a roll-call tally.

The request instructs county staff to assemble a concise update indicating which implementation actions have been completed, which are in progress, which have not been started, and where action is no longer feasible. Board members discussed whether the work should be done by planning staff, included in a consultant's scope, or both, and stressed the need to avoid overburdening planning staff given current workloads.

The motion directs the Planning Department to return with a status update for the board’s review; the board agreed that the report will inform priorities for items the board can pursue while a broader growth-policy update is considered.
