Elko County proclaims March recognition for Great Basin Elks Lodge 1472

The Elko County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved Proclamation 2025-02 recognizing the 10th anniversary of Great Basin Elks Lodge 1472 and noting the lodge’s support for veterans, youth programs and community services. Commissioner Gerber read the proclamation and the Board moved and voted to adopt it.
Ty Trouton, speaking for the lodge, urged community participation and described the group’s outreach: "Ty Trouton for the record, officer of Great Basin Elks Lodge." He reiterated that while the local lodge is small, "we punch well above our weight" in volunteer hours and contributions and invited the public to the lodge’s May 31 celebration at the 7018 Brewery in Elko. Commissioners recessed briefly to take a photo with lodge members after the vote.
