Board elects John Griesbeck as chair; honors Andy Bonner and notes NASBA leadership roles

The Tennessee State Board of Accountancy elected new officers and recognized outgoing service at its Aug. 3 meeting.
Greg Gilbert, outgoing chair, nominated John Griesbeck to serve as the board’s next chair; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Rob Vance was elevated to vice chair and Brad Floyd was elected secretary without opposition. Members offered remarks praising Andy Bonner’s nine years of service; the board presented Bonner with a plaque and several members thanked him for mentorship and leadership. Greg Gilbert and others noted that Andy had been selected by the TSCPA and NASBA for leadership service, and the meeting acknowledged Andy’s upcoming service as NASBA vice chair and eventual chair.
Board members said the changes will take effect immediately and thanked staff for continuity during leadership transitions. The meeting adjourned after the elections and recognition remarks.
