Parks staff updated the Board on capital projects and operational items at the May 20 meeting, announcing the splash park opening and several equipment installations.
Eric told the board, "It opens this Friday at 10AM," referring to the recently tested splash park; he also said the dechlorination system has been installed to ensure compliance with DNR standards before water reaches the tributary. Staff described a previously problematic playground topcoat pour that was remediated, and noted the roughly $95,000 project was funded with use tax dollars. Eric reported the skate park will receive two new features on June 19, and a '10 spin' merry-go-round will be installed the week after Memorial Day.
Board members discussed site closures during installation and maintenance needs. Staff said transfers of online student resources and volunteer coordination efforts could complement capital projects and outreach about upcoming events.
