The ordinance text (as read into the record) sets size limits and other conditions for ADUs and tiny homes and distinguishes modular or site-built tiny homes from tiny homes on wheels.
Planning staff said the changes are intended to update local code to reflect housing types and development patterns seen elsewhere and to align definitions with state code language where relevant. Council members asked about the 5,000-square-foot threshold for urban farming and the municipal-league conversations that informed the definitions; staff said several items were existing definitions and some were new clarifications passed along from recent state legislation and league guidance.
