Benton City Council voted unanimously on July 22 to award a contract to TechConnectGov for online permitting software after the Community Service committee recommended acceptance of the lowest responsive and responsible bid. City staff said the system was evaluated in committee and recommended as the best fit for the city's community development needs.
Staff read the price figures for the contract on the record: an initial implementation cost of $34,000 and an annual maintenance/subscription cost of $15,000. Planning staff told the council the vendor would begin work when the contract is signed and estimated a start around Aug. 1 with full implementation by the end of the calendar year. The vendor representative and the company director were present for questions during the meeting.
