Marysville board convenes special meeting, hears no public comment and adjourns after finalist interview

The Board of Education for Marysville Public Schools convened a special meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Marysville High School Media Center. Secretary Nicole Winston conducted roll call; members present were Barry Kreiner (Treasurer), Colleen Dodson (Trustee), Keven Palmateer (Vice President), Nick Thomas (Trustee), Mike Rutallie (Trustee) and Nicole Winston (Secretary). President Dave Schmorrow was absent.
Vice President Keven Palmateer read the board’s public-comment guidance: "By policy, the Board limits the citizen's comment portion of the meeting to 30 minutes and limits any one speaker to 5 minutes." No members of the public spoke. The agenda’s substantive item was a finalist candidate interview for Ashley McCann Markham, which the minutes record as beginning at 7:02 p.m. and ending at 8:13 p.m. After the interview the board took no personnel action that evening.
Trustee Nick Thomas moved to adjourn and Trustee Mike Rutallie seconded. The minutes show the motion carried with six ayes (Thomas, Rutallie, Kreiner, Dodson, Palmateer, Winston) and zero nays. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. The minutes and signatures list Nicole Winston as secretary and Michelle Nesbitt as recording secretary.
