The Board of Education for Marysville Public Schools interviewed finalist Ashley McCann Markham during a special meeting on Sept. 17. Vice President Keven Palmateer opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m.; the candidate’s interview was recorded as beginning at 7:02 p.m. and ending at 8:13 p.m., after which the board indicated it had concluded her finalist interview.
Before public comment, Palmateer read the board's public-comment rules: "By policy, the Board limits the citizen's comment portion of the meeting to 30 minutes and limits any one speaker to 5 minutes." No members of the public addressed the board during the allowed time. The board’s minutes state only that Ms. Ashley McCann Markham "presented to the Board of Education, after which the Board concluded her finalist interview." The board took no hiring motion or vote on the candidate at the meeting.
