Board approves one-year switch to ComEd; district estimates $13,673 annual savings

Business office presenter Craig Mathers said Utility Help representative Patty Ogden recommended the change and estimated savings of $13,673 annually based on the district's current usage of 1,243,000 kWh. On a motion by Shane Riggle, seconded by Tim Clay, the board approved the ComEd commercial-rate contract (motion passed 6 Yes, 0 No).
Mathers said the district has historically contracted with Mid‑America Energy (contract ending in December) and that the proposed contract is an opportunity to lower operating costs; the board approved the change and directed staff to finalize the contract.
