The Howell Public Schools Board on Feb. 10 accepted a $12,740 donation from the Howell Education Foundation to buy book vending machines for Hutchings Elementary School and Voyager Elementary School.
Board members noted the Howell Education Foundation's support and that the Foundation received a $10,000 donation from Meijer that helped make the larger grant possible. The donation was accepted by motion from Ms. Conn, supported by Ms. Marhofer, and the vote was recorded Yes: Tarara, Pasini, Marhofer, Conn, Dault; motion carried 5-0.
Board materials list the donation amount and intended use (Exhibit M). The machines are presented as an expansion of an existing program that the district said has been successful at other elementary schools.
