Multiple parents addressed the board during public comment with concerns about student safety, bullying and inconsistent incident reporting. Kristen Lipschitz said she was speaking on behalf of other Ada Vista parents and described accounts of ongoing bullying and incidents that parents say were not communicated: "I'm here because of what I'm hearing from other Ada Vista parents regarding bullying and student safety concerns at Ada Vista," she told the board.
Karen Lewis urged a set of specific remedies after describing patterns she said improved when an additional adult was assigned to a classroom but otherwise remained inconsistent. Lewis asked for "an independent audit of incident reporting, developing a clear parent communication policy with defined standards for incident affected student safety, creating a confidential reporting system for teachers and staff, ensuring restorative practices are used consistently throughout the district," and she offered to collaborate on solutions.
Susan Fergie described long‑running classroom instability she said led to evacuations and recounted a specific April 21 incident involving her daughter that she said was not timely reported to families. Heather Bartholomew, a parent and part‑time teacher, called on the board to acknowledge a rise in social‑emotional dysregulation and to pursue proactive supports. The board closed public comment and said district representatives would follow up with those who requested it.
