County sets aside funding for next year's Liberty At The Lake; staff to debrief event

Deputy County Administrator Matthew Hankins told the Planning Commission that the Board has set aside funding for next year's Liberty At The Lake festival and that staff will hold a debrief to identify improvements.
"The Board has set aside funding for the festival next year. We will have a meeting to debrief and figure out what we need to do or what could be changed," Hankins said. Commissioner Heidi D. Lyall suggested adding shade for people watching bands; Hankins said staff may rent a stage and reposition it to provide shade.
Hankins also reported storm-related park damage and operations issues: a tree partially fell at a camping area over the July 4th weekend, and at the Rural Retreat Lake pool pH levels have been corrected but a chlorine feeder remains out of service, with staff manually feeding chlorine until repairs are made. Ex-officio Jesse Burnett added that the Cannery is scheduled to open July 17 pending inspection.
