Pateros council approves payments, donates $5,000 to school sign and OKs landfill appraisal

Councilmember Mike Harding moved to accept claim checks numbered 43078 through 43173 totaling $462,915.98 and payroll checks totaling $65,291.05; Holly Bange seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. The combined total of the approved checks is $528,207.03.
The council also approved a $5,000 contribution toward an upgraded school sign after Bruce Henne moved the donation with Chantel Poole seconding; the council specified the city may use the sign for two-day event advertising and emergency messaging. Separately, Holly Bange moved to proceed with an appraisal of the city landfill property for potential sale; the motion was seconded and approved. Clerk/CA Wilson said a second appraisal quote is expected and the city will select the lower bid. Finally, Chantel Poole moved to change the January council date to Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.; that motion also passed unanimously.
