The Belding Area Schools Board on April 21 adopted three related Schools of Choice resolutions by unanimous roll call votes.
First, trustees approved a resolution to opt out of the Section 105 Schools of Choice program. Immediately afterward the board voted to participate in the Ionia Intermediate School District (ISD) Collaborative Schools of Choice plan. The board then approved a resolution to opt in to the Section 105c Schools of Choice plan. Each motion was made by Terry Boni and supported by Mike Baker and recorded as passing on roll call.
The minutes record the board’s decisions but do not show extended debate or minority positions. Administrative staff will carry out necessary notifications and any required paperwork connected to the ISD and state processes.
