At the Feb. 12 meeting, Ron Stoneman presented a concept for recreational-space optimization focused on Sands Park and the Jefferson Elementary property. Stoneman described potential features "a walking path for students to use, neighborhood playground, Pickleball court complex, parking lot" as possibilities to improve student health and neighborhood access.
A LandBank representative attended the meeting to hear the presentation and participate in initial discussion; no formal decision was made and the item was presented as part of Superintendent's correspondence and staff reports. The board asked for further detail to be developed as the concept advances.
