The Lake Shore Board approved two change orders for Bid Package No. 5 — one addressing mechanical and plumbing (including air conditioning) and another addressing carpentry — for the ECC Addition and Rodgers Renovation.
President Kurt Ziegler asked whether the change order was about doors and the air conditioner; Shelly Larsen replied, "This change order concerns air conditioning, plumbing, and subsequent work." Dr. DiPoino added that the air handling units take up substantial roof space, that removing them will free space and reduce noise, and that the removed units will be reused rather than wasted.
Board members discussed engineering costs and the blend of old and new spaces created by demolition work. The motions to approve both change orders were made and seconded and recorded as passing with six yea votes and one absent member.
