The board continued discussion about Rule 10 coaches and evaluation forms at its Feb. 10 meeting. Superintendent Ken Tharman provided three examples of coach/sponsor evaluation forms and asked for input from high school AD Jessie Thalheim. The board indicated it wants to make coach contract renewal decisions based on evaluations and performance of duties rather than solely on whether coaches are certified staff or Rule 10 coaches.
Tharman also supplied the form used for his annual evaluation; trustees will fill out those evaluations and share them with him at the March meeting. The board asked administration to gather additional examples from other districts and to bring a draft evaluation process back for more discussion next month.
