Tatum ISD presents safety, leadership goals and SHAC accomplishments for 2024–25

Assistant Superintendent Drenon Fite Jr. briefed the board on District Goal One—prioritizing safety and security for students and staff—and District Goal Three—developing student leadership—during the Oct. 7 meeting. He also presented the School Health Advisory Council's 2023–24 report and goals for 2024–25.
"Mr. Fite shared how the district works to prioritize the safety of students and staff district wide through developing protocols, and preparing and monitoring the effectiveness of the district’s programs," the minutes state. He emphasized development of protocols, monitoring effectiveness, standards of behavior, and the role of extracurricular involvement in leadership development.
On the SHAC report, Mr. Fite cited accomplishments including enhancements to student health programs through nutrition and physical activity, increased community involvement, provision of mental health support, and social-emotional learning, and outlined goals for the coming school year.
