The Tatum Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a revision to DEC (Local) granting up to five days of bereavement leave to full‑time employees at its Oct. 7, 2024 regular meeting.
"Dr. Richardson asked the Board to approve a revision to DEC (Local) board policy granting bereavement leave of up to five days to full-time employees," the minutes state. Superintendent Dr. J.P. Richardson brought the item before the board; Mr. Matt Crawford moved to approve and Mrs. Kip Amick seconded. The motion carried 7-0.
Board materials and the minutes note that the five days must be used within 60 days and that there are additional criteria employees must meet to obtain the leave. The board did not amend the criteria during the meeting; the policy revision was approved as presented.
