Tatum ISD approves District of Innovation Plan amendments on counseling, suspensions and health instruction

Assistant Superintendent Drenon Fite asked the board to consider proposed amendments to the Tatum ISD District of Innovation Plan that were discussed in the DIT meeting on Sept. 5. Mr. Fite explained four changes: time allocated to counseling duties; limiting suspensions for students below third grade; updates to the local school health advisory council and health education instruction; and establishing campus behavior coordinators. Mr. Curt Smith moved to approve the proposed amendments, Mrs. Kip Amick seconded, and the motion passed 6-0.
