Marysville school board elects 2025 officers in unanimous vote

The Marysville Public Schools Board of Education held an organizational meeting on Jan. 15, 2025, and elected its 2025 officers by unanimous vote. Mrs. Nicole Winston moved to elect Dave Schmorrow as board president; the motion was supported by Mr. Kirk Smith and recorded as carried with seven ayes and no nays.
Subsequent nominations and recorded votes placed Kevin Palmateer in a leadership role, named Mrs. Nicole Winston board secretary and Mr. Nick Thomas as board treasurer. Each motion passed 7–0 according to the minutes. The meeting record lists members present as Kevin Palmateer, Colleen Dodson, Kirk Smith, Nick Thomas, Amanda Busch, Nicole Winston and Dave Schmorrow.
The organizational votes were taken at the start of the Jan. 15 meeting; the board moved on to committee assignments and regular business after the officer elections. The minutes indicate the board will follow up on procedural items at upcoming meetings.
