MAPS Education Foundation reports $117,000 in scholarships, expands 'First to Finish' program

Linda Winslow, president of the MAPS Education Foundation, updated the board April 7 on the foundation's activity for the 2023–24 cycle.
Winslow said the foundation operates four arms — grants/bonds, scholarships, the First to Finish savings program and the Pendill Wall recognition program — and reported nine grant funds with 34 grants awarded to students and staff. She said there are 53 total scholarship funds and the foundation awarded about $117,000 in scholarships last year; scholarship awards are scheduled for May 20 in the MSHS gym.
Winslow described the First to Finish program, a savings account initiative now in its fifth year, and noted that donations made in April (financial literacy month) receive an additional $5 contribution from the foundation to eligible student accounts. She also described the Pendill Wall recognition program that honors Marquette graduates who have had notable post‑graduate achievements.
The board received the update and thanked foundation leadership for support of students and staff.
