Board OKs Schools of Choice designations for 2025–26 and creates Assistant Principal post at Three Fires

The board voted to continue Howell Public Schools as an unlimited K–12 Schools of Choice district for the traditional in‑person program and the Highlander Virtual program, and to maintain a limited School of Choice for the district's Spanish Dual Language Immersion program, Academia Bilingue at Three Fires Elementary for the 2025–2026 school year. The motion (Item #2024-131) was moved by Ms. Zurek and supported by Ms. Conn and passed 6-0.
Separately, the board approved creation of an Assistant Principal position at Three Fires Elementary School (Item #2024-135), moved by Ms. Conn and supported by Ms. Pasini; that motion also passed unanimously. The items were presented as administrative recommendations and recorded in the official minutes for implementation by district administration.
