The Farmington Board of Education met in a special session Oct. 22, 2024, at Maxfield Education Center and voted unanimously to enter closed session for a personnel evaluation. The board approved the meeting agenda in a 6-0 voice vote and later voted 6-0 by roll call to move into closed session “in accordance with section 8(a) Periodic Personnel Evaluation of the Open Meetings Act, Public Act 267 of 1976.”
President Terri A. Weems called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Vice President Donald Walker, Jr. moved to approve the special-meeting agenda; Treasurer Claudia T. Heinrich supported the motion. The roll call before the closed-session vote listed trustees Heinrich, Walker, Blau, Smith, Fox and Weems as voting Aye; David N. Turner was noted as a late arrival. Interim Superintendent Kelly Coffin and executive assistant Rámona Mayberry were listed as present.
The board recessed into closed session at 5:08 p.m.; the public minutes state the board returned only to adjourn and that no further business was conducted. The special meeting adjourned at 5:55 p.m. Mable S. Fox, board secretary, signed the minutes.
