Chavness told commissioners a county radio study funded with E‑911 funds is underway to explore alternatives, including building some county-owned capabilities, but said maintaining the status quo is necessary to keep operations uninterrupted while the study continues; the final draft of the study is expected in April. The board noted exit clauses and options to reduce costs by removing radios from the system if needed.
