Long Lake board praises quick water-main repair; public asks about Shaw Brook rehabilitation

Council members thanked the Water Department for its quick response to a Main Street water main break and for hooking up water to the new Raquette Lake Fire Department building. Councilman Richard B. Dechene praised Parks and Recreation, saying "the music by the lake is big hit and would like to see it continued in the future," and urged straightening the Town dock.
During public comment, resident Mike Lamphear asked when rehabilitation of Shaw Brook would start. Confidential Secretary Matthew Newby replied that the town is waiting on approval to use property along Shaw Brook from the landowners. Water Supervisor Keith Austin also thanked the Long Lake Highway Department and the NYS DOT for their assistance on the Main Street repair.
