Mary (S1) reported to the board that the Wastewater Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) is reviewing its mission and preparing a memo to the select board; she asked whether anyone on the health board would serve as the RAC representative.
Mary described planned activities: a site visit to the treatment plant for committee members, monthly meetings that include reports from the project manager and construction slides, and ongoing work on the effluent-discharge plan. She said the DEP is expected to consider a hydrogeological report at its Aug. 18 meeting, a milestone the committee hopes will inform the start of discharge work and associated scheduling.
Mary also noted the committee's role is to involve and educate the community about water resources, including surface and groundwater, stormwater, and wastewater, and to provide citizen feedback to the select board as requested.
