During the Sept. 15 Transportation Committee meeting, board member Zach Vandendooren pressed for a formal vehicle replacement plan tied to mileage and vehicle age to manage long-term maintenance and avoid unexpected failures.
Ashley Hamilton said Ms. Mayne, the district bookkeeper, holds records of all service performed on buses; Hamilton committed to assembling an equipment list that includes mileage for every owned and leased vehicle. Vandendooren framed the replacement plan as a necessary next step after compiling service and equipment data.
No replacement purchases were authorized at the meeting; committee members agreed the next step is a documented inventory and recommended replacement schedule to be developed from the service records and mileage data.
