On Sept. 15, West Carroll CUSD 314’s Transportation Committee reviewed the district’s vehicle inventory and staffing ahead of planning for next year.
Meeting minutes list nine leased Thomas buses (new in FY26), two owned Bluebird buses, six owned small buses, two leased small white buses, one leased white van, and three staff vehicles (a Traverse, a Pacifica and an Equinox). The minutes also record that the district currently employs 17 drivers.
The review was presented as part of routine operations and planning; the committee discussed vehicle counts, ownership versus lease status, and how the mix of large and small vehicles meets routing needs. "We currently lease nine Thomas buses, which are new in FY26," the minutes state.
Committee members did not take formal action on fleet purchases during the meeting but identified the inventory and staffing level as the basis for facility and replacement planning discussed later in the session.
