Board member Shane Riggle moved to approve the hire of Jennifer Confer; the motion, seconded by Karen Kleckner, passed unanimously. The board also approved a stipend payment of $1,822.00 for Stephanie Folk as head junior-high track coach; that motion passed 6 Yes and 1 No (Tim Clay voiced the lone negative vote). All three personnel items originated from executive-session discussions about employment and performance.
The meeting convened into executive session at 6:02 PM on a 6–1 roll call and reconvened at 7:07 PM. Later, at 8:02 PM the board again moved into closed session for additional personnel matters. The actions approved from closed session were recorded in open session and memorialized by roll-call votes.
