The Scobey K-12 Schools board approved a slate of personnel actions for the 2025–26 school year, including hiring new food‑services staff, adding substitutes to the district list and approving paraprofessional and coaching appointments.
Committee member S3 moved to hire Leif Cornwell as a food-services employee "pending background check." The board discussed concerns about an employee who left a prior job mid-contract, but after brief discussion the motion carried by voice vote with at least one nay recorded. The board also approved adding the names listed on the substitute roster, hired Tasia Hersl as a paraprofessional, approved Teresa Bockran as testing proctor and approved Jeremy Handy as assistant football coach—each pending satisfactory background checks where required.
Administration will complete background checks and finalize hiring paperwork; members said they would defer to administration about which candidates best fit open roles and asked staff to confirm start dates.
