VAN ISD FFA chapter named 'gold star'; board approves out-of-state trip and possible competition

"They are a gold star chapter, from this previous year," Speaker 2 said, and staff asked trustees to approve travel to accept the award and, potentially, to compete at the American Royal in Kansas City.
The board approved the out-of-state trip request as Action Item A following a motion and second and a voice vote. Staff said travel plans will include both recognition and competitive opportunities; final trip details and any student chaperone requirements will be handled by district staff in accordance with board policy.
