Board hears reports on sports, clubs, curriculum and RESA coordination

Administrators provided routine reports at the Feb. 24 meeting covering student activities, curriculum, and cooperative work with RESA. Ryan Melrose reported varsity cheer advanced to regionals, the wrestling team won the BWAC conference (and lost narrowly at regionals), and two bowlers will attend state competition. He also listed upcoming events: band prefestival Feb. 25, NHS blood drive March 3, Oscar Night March 6 and a high‑school winter dance March 16; golf will return as a spring sport.
Curriculum Director Mrs. Hanners said elementary teachers reported that the Amplify curriculum implementation is going well; she is participating on RESA's AI Task Force and plans a survey on the district's Profile of a Graduate. Miranda Mileski of RESA will meet with grades 6–8 ELA teachers. Elementary principals reported PTO events (Mother–Son Dodgeball night with roughly 150 attendees) and clubs and programs such as Drama Club, Discovery Kitchen and kindergarten farm‑unit visits.
