Algonac board approves 2025 meeting schedule, financial authorizations and vendor retainers

The Algonac Community School District Board approved its full consent agenda (items A–I) on Jan. 13, 2025. The motion, made by Andrew Goulet and supported by Heather Arneil‑Roberts, passed unanimously (Ayes: 7, Nays: 0). The consent package includes the district’s 2025 meeting schedule (regular meetings on the fourth Monday at 7 p.m., with alternate Mondays for March, May and December), authorization to use any bank or credit union in St. Clair County as a depository, and signature authorizations that name the President and Treasurer as primary signers and the Secretary as an alternate.
The board deputized Director of Business Services Dorothy Gzel as Coordinator of Elections for 2025. It also approved continued organizational memberships (St. Clair County Association of School Boards, Michigan Association of School Boards, National School Board Association), approved retainers for Thrun Law Firm (legal services) and Lewis & Knopf (auditors), authorized attendance at identified board conferences, and adopted a resolution authorizing electronic transactions.
