Sparrow and Arms aims to build a Bronx community hub and pursue supportive housing for youth

Sparrow told BronxNet she envisions a community hub in The Bronx where partner organizations can offer services on site at no cost to clients. "That's like really our main focus...because we need to have these services in our community and this hub would essentially allow any partner that wants to offer services in our facility a 100% for free," she said.
She said Sparrow and Arms plans to seek city-owned property to start supportive housing targeted at young adults aging out of foster care, describing it as an urgent need for youth who are leaving family systems and need stable housing to pursue education or employment. "We should have supportive housing for our youth being 18 to 24 who are phasing out of foster care," she said.
Sparrow framed the hub as a way to centralize job readiness, legal assistance and mentorship, reducing barriers created by fragmented services. She said the organization is still small and relies on partners but intends to expand capacity across Bronx neighborhoods and to model successful practices she has observed in Brooklyn and Queens.
