Selectmen approve warrants, adopt assistance maximums and authorize sale of surplus fire equipment

The Town of Winter Harbor Selectmen met Oct. 20 and approved routine financial business, adopted revised General Assistance maximums and authorized the sale of surplus fire equipment.
Selectmen approved Warrants #17 (Oct. 14) and #18–#19 (Oct. 17) and accepted the Treasurer’s Report dated Oct. 17, 2025. Town payroll and accounts payable totals were recorded as: Town P/R #17 $15,804.85; Town A/P #18 $181,087.67; Town A/P #19 $269,475.61, for a combined total of $466,368.13. The Tax Collector’s Report was also accepted; FY25 taxes receivable were $21,467.46 (99.13% collected) and FY24 $3,712.75 (99.82% collected).
A public hearing on updated General Assistance maximums opened at 6:08 p.m. and closed at 6:10 p.m.; the Selectmen then voted to accept the new maximums as written (approved 3-0). The board also approved an abatement for Map 21 Lot 8-1 and signed the County Tax Commitment, actions recorded as approved 3-0. Separately, the board voted to place an advertisement for sealed bids to sell an old tanker and an unused forestry trailer; that motion passed 3-0.
Selectmen Chair G. Harrington presided over the meeting; Sara J. Liscomb, town manager, presented the financial reports and administrative updates. No individual vote tallies by member name were recorded in the minutes; all listed motions are recorded as approved 3-0.
