County attorney outlines land‑use code edits, lodgers tax ballot language and scheduled hearings

County attorney Kranowski briefed the commissioners on several legal and administrative items on Aug. 4. He said staff continue revising the county's land use code following recent workshops and are finishing resolutions that would introduce potential lodgers tax ballot measures; the county is coordinating language with the city. He also reported work updating the county's arbitrator list for CBOE hearings.
Kranowski said Leaf Properties has filed a notice of appeal in the Dollar Store decision and that the district court materials will move next to the court of appeals. He also notified the board that the Ironwood contempt hearing with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is set for Aug. 10–11, and that the schedule will be dictated by the court of appeals and the trial schedule as those processes proceed.
