The Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners voted Aug. 4 to approve a one‑day special‑event liquor permit for the Cancer Resource Alliance's annual "Pretty in Pink" fashion show, scheduled for Oct. 15 at 26650 Road P in Dolores. Tiffany Randall, president of the Cancer Resource Alliance, told the board the nonprofit provides unrestricted financial grants to residents of Dolores and Montezuma counties who are facing cancer treatment or recent diagnoses.
"Pretty in Pink is our annual fundraiser for the Cancer Resource Alliance," Randall said, and organizers reported last year's event raised $38,000; the group said it has raised more than $260,000 over 15 years. Susan Keck, the group's vice president, confirmed the event plans are unchanged from last year and that doors will open at 6 p.m. with cleanup expected by 11 p.m.
Commissioner Kopenhafer moved to approve the special event liquor permit; Commissioner Candelaria seconded, and the board approved the permit by voice vote. The permit covers a single‑day event and the board recorded no public opposition during the hearing.
