The council approved a land‑use restriction agreement needed to accept a $142,000 non‑state grant to improve accessibility and office space at the Mining & Railroad Jamieson Museum. Dee Wolf, secretary for the Friends of the Museum, said the group is the fundraising arm for the museum and explained the grant will fund renovations to make the facility more accessible and welcoming to visitors.
Wolf said the group must match the grant and that an originally proposed Atrium project will be deferred because the total funding came in below expectations. She told council the land‑use restriction would require the museum to remain used as a museum for 20 years as a condition of the grant. Council voted to authorize the city manager to execute the agreement so the grant can be awarded.
