City Council hears update on donor-funded Red Bud sign for downtown four-way stop

The City Council on Aug. 3 received details about a donor-funded Red Bud landmark sign planned for the downtown four-way stop. A committee member said Cameron's Foundation has committed to buy the sign and Raceline has completed a stainless-steel design; the letters will be approximately 5 feet tall, raised about 1 to 2 feet, and the whole installation will measure about 18 feet wide.
The committee member said the tree portion will be built in three layered colors and that Deed Diedrich Bank has committed to allow placement so the sign will be visible from all four directions. Council members described the sign as a notable downtown enhancement and there was no substantive opposition during the update.
