Marquette Area Public Schools voted unanimously on May 12 to award the combined PA systems contract for Sandy Knoll Elementary and Marquette Senior High School to JP Electric following a recommendation from IDI Architecture.
IDI's bid tabulation showed JP Electric as the low bidder with a combined total of $506,700; IDI recommended the district include an approximately 7% contingency (about $35,400) to cover unexpected occurrences or necessary addenda. The district’s assistant superintendent outlined the project purpose and the board moved to award the contract on a motion by Jason Zdunek, seconded by Jennifer Klipp; the vote was 7–0.
A notice of award and final contract documents will follow once the district instructs its architect/consultant on how to proceed. The IDI recommendation memo and the bid tabulation were included in meeting materials and identified JP Electric as the recommended contractor.
