Longview Road mobilization planned; water outage restored within 24 hours, officials say

Rich Gochenour updated the council on recent Public Works activity, reporting a water outage last week that was restored within 24 hours and that work on Longview Road is progressing toward a September 15 completion target.
"Last week’s water outage had restoration within 24 hours," Gochenour said, and he described how staff document work in Diamond Maps. The contractor anticipates mobilizing to the Longview Road site within the next two to three weeks for debris and tree removal, with temporary road-closure items discussed and an expected maximum two-week closure to complete the removal and follow-on work.
Gochenour also said Fourth and Seventh Street water and street improvements are pending an archeological survey (expected the week of July 6) and that SWIPCO will complete an environmental review with a 30–45 day comment period under federal rules; the IEDA's notice of release of funds is expected to permit bidding in early September.
