Jury approves debris contracts, accepts food bid and signs off on several hires

At the July 20 meeting the Ouachita Parish Police Jury approved multiple procurement and personnel items. Mr. Smiley reported scoring of firms for pre-need debris services and the Jury awarded debris monitoring to Tetra Tech, Inc. and debris removal to Ceres Environmental; the contracts were approved by voice vote.
The Jury accepted the third-quarter food and food products bid from Ben E. Keith. In personnel actions, the IT Department request to hire David Duffey as an IT technician and the 911 Office request to hire Christopher Williams as a full-time 911 call-taker were approved. Public Works hires approved later in the meeting included Sharon Meadows (Public Works secretary), Quante Augurson (Equipment Operator I) and Woodrow Freeman (Equipment Operator I).
All procurement and hiring items were approved without opposition. The approvals allow the parish to proceed with pre-need debris planning, maintain food service continuity, and fill operational vacancies in 911, IT and Public Works.
