SUA trustees approve Boomer Lake Station demolition plan, hire Black & Veatch

Smith said staff aims to remove above- and below-grade infrastructure while leaving the lake intake and associated underground piping in place and then return the site to grass or seeded turf for future redevelopment. Trustees authorized the general manager to execute the Black & Veatch agreement, approve the $512,500 engineering payment, authorize expenditures from the electric rate stabilization fund of $563,750, and approve an associated budget amendment; the motion passed 5-0.
